Products and Client API are super-admin menus. Products are catalog records. Client API is the OAuth client list, including the callback that finishes an authorization.
Who can use this. Super admin only. They are not shown to a standard merchant employee.
Before you start. Use Products when you are maintaining the catalog through the dashboard. Use Client API only when you are registering an application. Do not put client secrets in a browser app.
Steps
- Open Products to search and edit a product. Open a product for its details.
- Open Client API to create or edit a client.
- If an OAuth return fails, the callback can say the request was denied or invalid. A successful return shows the token so you can copy it once.
- API keys for the merchant API are under Developers, not under Client API.
| What you see | Meaning | What happens next |
|---|---|---|
| Products | Catalog items for a super admin. | Editing a product does not refund a payment. |
| Client API | OAuth clients. | Separate from the rc secret API keys. |
| OAuth callback | The return address after authorization. | A denied or invalid callback does not create a payment. |
After you save or submit. Saving a product or a client does not charge a customer.
Example. Example only: a super admin adds a fictional product Class fee for 30.00. No customer is charged until a payment link, invoice, or API charge uses it.
Troubleshooting
- The menu is missing. You are not a super admin.
- You expected WooCommerce products. This Products screen is the dashboard catalog, not the WooCommerce product list.
